Dances from the Casbah is a video collage of four works exploring the dimensions of Oriental dance:

Amethyst
and
The Copper Flute
are solo performances in the unique style of Kathryn Ferguson.


Dreams of Matahari
and
Shaqawa
are choreographies by Miss Ferguson that blend traditional Oriental dance with Western elements and are presented by the Xanadu Dancers.

Just Beyond Subliminal,
plus a Directory of Oriental Dance Resources.

Rick's Cafe is an early Kathryn Ferguson video performance. Accompanied by a live musician and having good production values for its time, this performance will appeal to Oriental dance video collectors.

Just Beyond Subliminal is a short experimental video work which leads Oriental dance beyond its traditions into the world of abstract video art. Featuring Kathryn Ferguson in images from Dances, Subliminal expands elements of time, movement and sound to reveal intimate emotions of the performer. Subliminal has been honored by being juried into the Arizona Video Art Festival.
